County Durham Foundation gives grants to local good causes that make a real difference to people’s quality of life in County Durham and Darlington. Individuals, families, local companies and public bodies make this possible by setting up their own charitable funds with us. Last year these funds gave out almost £2m in grants to the local community.

400-year-old
charity is the latest to set up a Grassroots Fund
Long-standing local trust, the Henry Smith's Charity, recently became our
8th Grassroots fund holder by creating a £50,000 fund for the benefit
of small, local community groups supporting the disadvantaged elderly.
Comic Relief comes to County Durham Foundation!
County Durham Foundation has just heard that it will be managing
Comic Relief's local grant making in County Durham and Darlington for the
next two years. This good news follows our very successful management of their
Sport Relief programme in 2005-2008. Information about applying for a grant
will be available shortly.

Grant of the month
Durham
Bee Keepers Association introduces new people to the craft of beekeeping and
honey production by providing courses free of charge, with the aim to make
the activity available to all people, especially those on low incomes.
