Last year a group of employees from Northumbrian Water very kindly raised £230 for the Foundation by taking part in the Kielder Challenge.
The Inter Company Kielder Challenge is internationally famous for being the largest team-building event in Europe and this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever as it celebrates it’s 21st year.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District, the Kielder Challenge is a fun competition that is a test of brains, skill and team-work, so you don’t have to be super-fit to take part.
The challenge takes place over a whole weekend and brings together 6 individuals from within a company who must work together to compete against other organisations on a level playing field. Each team must spend 2 days navigating a route through the Kielder Forest, finding and tackling a number of problem solving tasks along the way.
At the end of the weekend all the hard work pays off as the teams gather together for a big celebration party and award ceremony.
This year’s event will take place on the 22nd - 23rd September, if you would like to take part in this fun and exciting team-building challenge then visit http://www.reivers-dev.com/challenges/index.htm to make sure your team gets a place.
To enter the Kielder Challenge each team must nominate a charity that they will compete for, so why not choose County Durham Foundation and raise money for your local community while you take part.
Finally thank you again to Graham Perry, Stephen Armour, Steve Forster, George Arnott, John Garrett and Steven Bell; the team from Northumbrian Water who took part in the Challenge last year. The money they raised will be used to support grass-roots community projects.
