Grassroots Grants and the Grassroots Challenge

County Durham Foundation has been allocated £1.4 million by the Office of the Third Sector to distribute funding in support of grassroots community projects in County Durham and Darlington over the course of three years.

Part of this money has been awarded to match donations made by local individuals, families and companies who set up long-term funds to support small, grassroots community projects which have arguably been those most adversely affected by the recent reductions in available funding. This money will therefore provide a much-needed lifeline for many.
